Family Raffles £325,000 Seaside Home for Just £5 a Ticket! | Anglesey House Raffle (2026)

Imagine this: a cozy seaside home, worth a pretty penny, is up for grabs for just £5 a ticket! But here's the catch - it's not your typical real estate deal.

A Unique Twist on Selling

The Bailey family, with their charming two-bedroom flat in the picturesque Rhoscolyn village, Anglesey, has decided to take a leap of faith. Instead of the traditional 'For Sale' sign, they've opted for a raffle, offering a chance to own their dream home for a fraction of its value.

Jennie Bailey, the heart of this venture, shares, "It's been a squeeze for our family, but we're ready for a new chapter." With their boys growing up and craving their own space, the decision to move on from this beloved holiday home was a tough one.

A Whimsical Idea, or a Brilliant Plan?

But here's where it gets controversial. Jennie's friends initially thought she was crazy, but her curiosity led her down a path of extensive research. She sought legal advice, navigated the complexities of online platforms, and set a goal to sell 150,000 tickets in six months.

And this is the part most people miss - even if they reach their goal, the family won't pocket £750,000. There are costs to consider, and a 10% cut goes to the platform.

As of our latest update, they've sold over 50,000 tickets, but the race is on to hit their target by January 1st.

A Chance for All, but a Risk for Some

The raffle has sparked mixed reactions. Some question the cost and the family's connection to the area, but Jennie stands firm. "It's an opportunity for those who might not otherwise be able to afford it."

Jennie's optimism is admirable, but she acknowledges the challenges. "It's a learning curve. I'm trying everything, and some days it feels like a full-time job."

A Growing Trend, or a Niche Venture?

Stelios Kounou, CEO of Raffall, the platform hosting this raffle, shares an interesting perspective. While house raffles are not a mainstream trend, they offer a unique opportunity for those willing to put in the effort.

So, is this a brilliant way to sell a home, or a risky venture? What do you think? We'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments!
