Get ready for an intense race in Sao Paulo! Isack Hadjar, the French driver for Racing Bulls, is all geared up to give his absolute best from the fifth position on the grid. With a solid qualifying performance, both Racing Bulls cars secured top-10 spots, and now they're aiming for a big points haul.
But here's where it gets controversial... Hadjar's team had a tricky sprint earlier, with him finishing just outside the points in 10th. His teammate, Liam Lawson, faced a five-second penalty, dropping him to 16th. Despite these challenges, the team bounced back strongly in qualifying, positioning themselves behind the McLarens and Mercedes.
"It was a hectic session!" Hadjar exclaimed. "I fought hard with the car, but we managed to put it all together. It's not the perfect lap, but given the conditions, I think we did well."
Looking ahead to the race, Hadjar, at 21, is optimistic about their chances. Racing Bulls are currently battling for sixth place in the tight midfield Teams' Championship.
"We're starting just behind Oscar Piastri and ahead of George Russell. Their cars are faster, but we'll give it our all, fight them at the start, and aim for those big points. We need them!"
Lawson, too, is positive about their qualifying performance, having secured seventh place. He's eager to make up for their tough sprint race earlier.
"The pace was good today, especially in qualifying. We had a challenging race this morning, but we're analyzing the details and learning from it. It's a tight battle out there, and we're aiming for a decent position tomorrow."
Both Hadjar and Lawson are determined to contribute to their team's points tally at Interlagos on Sunday.
"Our target is clear: score points. Both cars in Q3 put us in a strong position, and we'll give it our best shot!" Lawson concluded.
