Kyle Kirkwood's Future Secured with Andretti Global Extension
Andretti Global made a significant announcement on November 3, revealing that Kyle Kirkwood, a five-time NTT INDYCAR SERIES race winner, has signed a multiyear contract extension to continue his journey with the team. This extension ensures Kirkwood's presence in the 2026 NTT INDYCAR SERIES season, driving the No. 27 Andretti Honda.
The 27-year-old Kirkwood, a native of Jupiter, Florida, expressed his excitement about the future, praising the team's trust in him and their remarkable three-year collaboration. He highlighted their upward trajectory, emphasizing their status as true contenders and, most recently, championship contenders. Kirkwood's confidence in the team's potential is well-founded, as he has achieved impressive results since joining Andretti Global in 2023.
During his time with the team, Kirkwood has secured five victories, three NTT P1 Awards, and six podium finishes, leading over 300 laps. His 2025 season was particularly remarkable, as he achieved a career-best three wins (Long Beach, Detroit, and World Wide Technology Raceway) and a fourth-place finish in the series standings, solidifying his status as a top performer.
Kirkwood's journey in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES began in 2022 with AJ Foyt Racing, following his INDY NXT by Firestone championship win in 2021 with Andretti Global. He returned to Andretti for the 2023 season, showcasing his talent and determination.
Andretti Global's President, Jill Gregory, praised Kirkwood's success and ambition, aligning them with the team's vision. She emphasized his talent, tenacity, and relentless pursuit of victory, making him a key asset in their INDYCAR lineup. Kirkwood will join the ranks of two-time INDYCAR SERIES champion Will Power and 2022 Indianapolis 500 winner Marcus Ericsson for the 2026 season, which commences on March 1 with the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg.
