Nsele, a multi-award-winning artist, had embarked on a special project in February 2024. His unique poetic love series, titled "Eduze Kwakho" (Next to You), offered a romantic visual experience of his poetry, with Nsele himself in the lead role on YouTube. However, the attempted hijacking, where he nearly lost his new Range Rover, left him with a heavy toll on his mouth - an essential tool for his poetic craft.
Despite his efforts to continue the series, Nsele and his team had to face the reality that they couldn't find a quick solution to overcome the challenges posed by his current condition. Thus, they made the tough call to cancel the series, with the final episode airing on November 12, 2024.
A Focus on Healing
Nsele, who has won multiple awards including two Samas, acknowledged the difficulty of his decision. With a large and engaged audience on YouTube, canceling the series was not taken lightly. However, he prioritized his well-being, stating, "The situation is beyond my control, and I decided to cancel the poetic series to take care of my life and focus on my recovery."
The attempted hijack left Nsele traumatized, and he understands the road to recovery will be a long one. "It's a process to heal both the mind and the body simultaneously," he shared. "But I'm determined to recover and move forward."
