However, his time in Queens was not without challenges, as he struggled to find consistency, moving between the Mets and other teams like the Texas Rangers, Seattle Mariners, Houston Astros, Atlanta Braves, and Detroit Tigers.
His most impressive season came in 2022 with the Astros, who went on to win the World Series. Montero's performance that year was exceptional, posting a 2.37 ERA in 71 games. Despite this success, he continued to face challenges, maintaining a 2.86 ERA in 20 games for the Tigers last season.
